The Aperto is a market stall that drives. Arriving on site, the left panel opens upward into a 1.80-metre awning. The lower panel swings outward and becomes a counter. Inside appears a two-level display, ready to be set out.
The entire opening ritual takes five minutes and requires no tools. The awning is thick Italian canvas, ochre or cream, stretched by bronze ribs. The counter is oiled beech, resistant to sun, rain and the hands of a thousand customers.
For the florist, the baker, the fishmonger, the cheese affineur. For those who bring their trade to the piazza and know that place matters more than the shop.
